The book was written about the Black Hundreds riots which took place in Russia/Ukraine in 1905. It was just the last link in the chain of pogroms in Slavic countries over the years.
Among the leaves are stamps of Rabbi Moshe Yitzhak Brove, and the note “belongs to the Rabbi Gaon famous as Rabbi Moshe Yitzhak Brove Av Beit Din of Korkil.”
