Shut Maharik, by Rabbi Joseph Colon Trabotto, Vincenzo Conti Cremona 1557. One of the earliest Sifrei Yesod in the world of Jewish halachic psak. The book is mentioned countless times in halachic works, especially the Beit Yosef by Rabbi Yosef Karo.

The author was born in France and journeyed over the years to Mantua (Italy), where he was the rabbi of the Italian Jewish community and the French immigrants. He worked tirelessly to answer halachic queries sent to him from across the world, and he would often then study his shiurim in the late hours of the night.

Pretty, illustrated title page, filled with small details, like angels and various figures. At the top is an engraving showing the Binding of Isaac. [12], 172 leaves. The title page and first five leaves as well as two leaves from the end have been professionally prepared. The pages have been cut close and sometimes damage the text at the tops of pages.
