Lot 190:
“A wondrous thing that he was rabbi of 50 towns”—an antique manuscript from the early 19th century, with stories and rumours about Rabbi Yaakov Shimshon of Spitivka, unknown in the Chassidic work and never printed!
“The above came to the Rabbi of Spolia and cried before him to go plead before the Rabbi of Spitivka.” Includes four pages written in a cramped style, divrei torah, stories and wonders of the Rabbi of Spitivka. Also mentioned are the Saba of Spoly, Rabbi Yosef of Zlotipolia, Rabbi Yosef of Gostintin, and Rabbi Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev.
Very important manuscript, no mention of these stories elsewhere. Not checked thoroughly. 4 pages. Wear in the margins, good condition.
