1. Letter handwritten in Yiddish, addressed to “My dear sister Menucha”. We were not able to identify the period or which Menucha was discussed. Location of the signature is torn, so we could not identify the author. No date noted, but it seems to be an earlier document than the two other documents in this lot. Written on both sides of the leaf.
2. Yichus document, 7 generations starting with the Baal HaTanya and reaching Chananya and Bruriah, the children of Menucha, great-granddaughter of the Rabbanit Menucha Rachel daughter of the Mittler Rebbe. The list appears twice with changes to the list of generations, since they have yichus in two directions. Written on the back of a typewritten leaf with guidelines: “Student leadership in school”.
3. Letter handwritten by Eliezer Dan Slonim hy”d (banker, Jewish leader in Chevron, only Jewish municipal official in the city). Murdered in the 1929 riots. A descendant of Rabbanit Menucha Rachel daughter of the Mittler Rebbe, he led the delegation which welcomed the Rayatz to Chevron. A personal family letter addressed to his aunt Menuchah Ratzkovsky and her husband Nachum of Haifa. Menuchah (sister of Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Slonim, rabbi of the Eida Ashkenazit in Chevron, father of Eliezer Dan).
Stains and tears, see pictures.
