This rare edition was printed in Koenigsberg in three variants (in the same year), with changes mainly to the title page. Before us is the edition with the detail “Avdu (et) Hashem b’Yirah v’Gilo b’Ra’ada”.
The blank leaves have many notes and signatures from important Chabad chassidim, and a pidyon nefesh of a chassid writing to his rabbi.
Among the signatures: “Eliezer..Alperowitz of Korenitz”, “belongs to the motz of Libowitz called Shmuel Kilsler”, “belongs to the Rabbi…called Rabbi Chaim bar Shabshi(?) Zvi”, and a number of unreadable signatures.
The back leaf has a long note with the title “Pidyon Nefesh for the Admor Shlita”. This minhag among chassidim of writing bakashot and pidyonei nefesh and to put them into a rabbi’s sefer was common among chassidim who lived far from their Rebbe’s chatzer.
