Sefer Tosafot Shabbat with Mahadura Batra, a work on the Shulchan Aruch and Rama regarding halachot Shabbat by Rabbi Refael ben Rabbi Chaim Meizlish. First edition, Zolkwa 1806. [1], 123, [8] leaves. Antique detached binding, worming holes, title page and first leaves are repaired, stains and many signs of use, overall fair condition.

Title page has an important stamp: “the holy Aharon Moshe of Geza Zvi of Brod” (see below). Stamp “Avraham Azriel s”t.” The body of the work has a calligraphic note in several places: “Belongs to the Beit Midrash of Rabbi Meir Dayan”. And signature: “Avraham Moshe Motes”. 

Rabbi Aharon Moshe of Geza Zvi (1775-1845) was a student of the Chozeh of Lublin and the Saraf of Starlisk, son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai Horwitz, who published the book Chibat Yerushalayim. He worked in Torah and kabbalah in the city of Brod and in 1839 he moved to Israel, where he is considered the founder of the Chassidic community of Jerusalem and also led the Kollel HaChassidim. His entire life he mourned the destruction of Jerusalem. His well-known will was printed in Chernowitz in 1858. He wrote laws of tevila for women in Yiddish.
