“Because with every issue you look first to see whether it suits the politics”—a strongly worded letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yehoshua Yonatan Rubenstein, a student of the Shomer Emunim, addressed to the administration of the Eida Charedit. Jerusalem 1931.
In his letter, the Rabbi protests the way in which the Eida was administered, which he claims cooperates in one way or another [with the government?]—“don’t cause tza’ar or ogmat nefhes to many of us who at the beginning of the Eida’s founding gave up their bodies and souls so that it would stand on the proper foundations”.
At the end he signs his name with the title: “Secretary of the Haredi Jewish Histadrut Shlomei Emunei Yisrael”.
29x22cm. Stains, good condition.
