Mishnah Torah by the Rambam, section on Zmanim. Sheerit Plita, Shanghai 1944.  378, [4] pages. Defective spine, very good condition.

The title page has an exciting inscription: “Avraham Eiger, Sunday, 12th of Cheshvan, 1944, in Shanghai, China, in the gola!”.

The Admor Rabbi Avraham Eiger of Lublin (1914-2003) was the great-grandson and grandson of Rabbi Akiva Eiger. During the Shoah he fled to Shanghai, and then moved to Israel, where he set up his hatzer in Bnei Brak. He was known as one of the most righteous figures in the city of Torah and chassidus, though modest. He would walk around simply, but everyone knew that the modest exterior hid a character of great gadlus. His sons-in-law include the Admor of Amnishov shlita, the Admor of Kozmir shlita, and his son and successor is Rabbi Shlomo Eiger shlita.
