Sefer Yadav Emunach, Vikuach Ma’amin u’Mema’en, part 1. A book on belief by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch bar Ben Zion Schles (1834-1914), a student of the Natziv of Volozhin and the forefather of the mussar movement, Rabbi Yisrael Salanter. He founded four yeshivot gedolot in Orzischov, Kherson, Cherkesy, and Uman, where thousands of students learned for forty years. He served as head of the Kherson yeshiva. He wrote many books.

The gaon chassid Rabbi Yosef Breyer (1894-1980) was the son of Rabbi Mordechai Dov, Av Beit Din of Shtefanesht. He served as rabbi of Jevoler next to Iasi. After his father’s death he was called to Shtefanesht to succeed him. He was one of the greatest chassidim of the Admor Rabbi Avraham Matityahu of Shtefanesht, in whose honor and memory Rabbi Breyer established a yeshiva in the city after his death. After WWII he served as rabbi of Botshan. In 1947 he moved to the US, where he served as rabbi in New York. In 1964 he moved to Israel. His son, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Breyer, is the father of the Admor of Boyan shlita.
