Chiddushei Mahartza on halachot of Channukah, by the Admor Rabbi Zvi Elimelech Shapira of Dinov, author of the Bnei Issachar and a leader of the Chassidic movement, published by his descendant the Admor Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Halberstam of Sanz-Klausenberg, with new additions from a manuscript he had in his possession. [3], 48, [1] leaves.

The publisher’s introduction relates the moving story of how the manuscript was miraculously saved during the Shoah by the Rebbe’s sons by their father’s order, and how from among all their possessions only this manuscript survived, “a sign from Hashem that something over which the righteous man toiled will not be lost in the abyss of oblivion…”. At the end is a facsimile of the manuscript by the author.

Rabbi Zvi Elimelech of Dinov (1783-1841), one of the great chassidic leaders, known primarily by the title the Bnei Yisaschar after the name of his books that are known for their holiness and were especially beloved by the great chassidic leaders of all the generations. In addition, he wrote a large range of books on all disciplines of the Torah – Igra D’Pirka, Derech Pikudecha, Ma’ayan Ganim and others.
