Copper sculpture: two open sifrei torah and an additional sefer wrapped on the side. The atzei Chayim have hands holding them from below.

in an open interpretation, it seems that the artist chose to express the burning of the Torah for generations by the oppressors of Israel, since the objects appear more like charred skeletons, while the hands holding them represent the Jews who have insisted on continuing to adhere to the Torah despite persecution and hardship…which is what has preserved the Torah in its full form (represented by the closed Torah on the side). This is also the reason why the burnt books are carried as high as appears in the Talmud: “the parchment is burning and the letters are rising in the air” (Avodah Zara 18a).

The two marble bases are set on a gradient. Total height: 47cm. Max width: 31cm. Stamped on the marble: “ch Herdin(?)”.
