Sefer Chazon LaMoed with three sections: 1) Shaar HaOra, strong words against the “inciters and dismissers, those “sympathizers” the Bundists who have increased unfortunately.” 2) Shaar HaRachamim, drashot on the bad times. 3) Shaar HaRatzon, drashot on the yemei haratzon. By Rabbi Mordechai Dov Eidelberg.

Background: the city of Bialystock passed from power to power during WWI, from the Russian czar to the Germans and from the Germans to the Poles. After the war it was still unclear where it stood and the Red Army tried to conquer it again. The city had an active Jewish Bund organization, which was obviously suspected of supporting the invading Red Army. For this reason (most likely) the author calls them “sympathizers”.

Bound with the sefer Shut Chazon LaMoed by the above author, with the rare approbation of Rabbi Yitzhak Zeev Soloveitchik, the Brisker Rav. The author describes the work as “questions and answers which I gave to queries during the years where we saw evil, on various matters whose significance has not come to pass fully.”
