Rabbi Avraham Yaakov Neumark (1879-1962) was the son of Rabbi Meshulam Zalman, rabbi of Storodov. He was a member of the Chief Rabbinate of Tel Aviv. His family belonged to the Chabad chassidus. He studied in the Telz yeshiva, served in the rabbinate of Pren, Lithuania and in 1932 he was appointed rabbi of Tel Aviv. He twice won the Rav Kook Prize for Judaic Literature. He also edited the Chiddushei HaRiya (the writings of Rabbi Yisrael Aba Citron). Among his books are the series Eshel Avraham.
