Long halachic tshuva handwritten and signed by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Greenfeld hy”d, Av Beit Din of Sajószentpéter (northern Hungary), on permitting a business to operate on Shabbos in partnership with a non-Jew. Very long tshuva, around 3.5 large folio pages written in a very cramped style. Sent in response to a question from Rabbi Shmuel Greenwald, Av Beit Din in Salish. Large folio page folded in half, 4 pages. 29x21cm. Good condition.

Rabbi Moshe Chaim Greenfeld was Av Beit Din of Sajószentpéter (1888-1944), a student of the Daat Sofer and Rabbi Mordechai Weinkler (author of the Shut Levushei Mordechai—mentioned in this tshuva). In 1923, when his father-in-law (Rabbi Chaim Fried) died, he took over as Av Beit Din of Sajószentpéter and as Rosh Yeshiva there. He was one of the greatest responsa authors in Hungary before the Shoah. His greatness was evidenced during the Shoah, when he gave drashot of strength before the community was sent to Auschwitz.
