Lot 004:
Megillat Esther, sofer script on parchment, Ashkenazi (Beit Yosef) script. Megillat HaMelech, with illustrations of crowns at the tops of columns. 33 lines per column, height of writing 26cm, height of parchment 33cm. Overall good condition.
Inside a handsome silver case, wonderfully made with engravings and burned illustrations of floral patterns, screwed together from 5 different pieces. On both extremities are handles and crowns coated in gold, which can also be used to roll the scroll and to put it inside/remove it from the case. There is also a matching cover/stopper coated in gold, with a clasp.
In the center is an empty frame for a dedication or note of ownership to be engraved. Beautiful. Height: 73cm. Total weight including megillah: 1620g.
