“Because the holiness of the tzaddik penetrates all matters, even the place and the utensils used by him for labor” (Likkutei Sichot 32, p. 25).

Part of the avnet (gartel) worn by the Rebbe in his tallis katan, following the minhag of the Admor HaZaken and Chabad chassidim, in order to preserve the tzitzit and prevent their measurements from being damaged. Framed inside a handsome wooden display with the Rebbe’s picture.

Size of the display: 23x32cm.

The back of the case has a certificate explaining the journey taken by this holy item to the present, from which it can be seen that the gartel was given to an important Chabad chassid by Rabbi Chananya Sinai David Halberstam; it was divided into several smaller pieces (approximately 3cm sq.), of which there are approximately 49. The attached piece was packaged scrupulously by talmidei chachamim and is covered in two layers. This is piece #19.
