Lot 028:
Siddur Torah Or with Shaar HaKollel, by the Admor HaZaken. A prayer book based on the nusach Ari, a number and corrected edition. Prayers with the laws and minhagim founded by the Admor…Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liady, the author of the Shulchan Aruch HaRav and the Tanya.
Prayers for the entire year (weekday, moadim, High Holidays), with the Pesach Haggadah. Printed by the Ram Widow and Brothers. Vilna 1911.
This siddur was put together by Rabbi Avraham David Lavut and divided into two sections with separate title pages. The first only had what had been printed in the first siddurim printed during the Admor HaZaken’s lifetime, while printing errors from prior editions were corrected (which is why it was called Torah Or). Leaf 72 has a prayer for the welfare of the Czar. The second section is a supplement not printed in the early editions. The beginning of the siddur has an approbation from the Maharil of Yanovitz, brother of the Baal HaTanya. Two title pages for the first section and a separate title page for the 2nd. 188, [40]; 49, [8], 72, [5] leaves. 21cm.
Few moth holes in the internal margins, stains, tape on two leaves, leaves 53-84 are cut in the binding and there is no damage to the text, overall good condition.
