Lot 004:
The edition princeps of the Tanya by the Admor HaZaken, with Igeret HaTshuva and Igeret HaKodesh. “New, corrected release.” This edition was the first glossed edition in many years and after many previous editions, edited according to various manuscripts with important additions, which received the approval of Chabad Admorim and is considered "a master edition, " according to which the Tanya book should be printed. To this day, many of the editions that have since been published on all corners of the globe are in fact a photographic print of this edition before us – by the Ram widow and brothers, Vilna, 1900. Two title pages. [3] 2-163 leaves in the original, this copy is missing the 5 last leaves. Tanya Printing #36.
This copy also contains the rare pre-title leaf, on pink paper. Wide margins. The front binding is original (detached), and is inscribed (among other things): “Published by the Tomchei Temimim company, 1900.”
Stains, otherwise overall good condition.
The blank first leaf has a note: “I merited from Binyamin bar Moshe David Roshkin as a gift, a symbol of love from the books of Rabbi Shmaryahu Lembenson.” Stamp: “Rabbi Zvi Lovo.”
