Buyer's premium:

Likkutei Amarim Tanya printed at the height of the Shoah, the first printed in Israel, by the Chassid Pinchas Althaus. Ever since the printing by the Ram widow and brothers in Vilna (1900), all editions of the Tanya until today have been facsimiles of that edition. But this Tel Aviv edition is the only one(!) reprinted with new letters, and not as a facsimile of the Vilna edition. Mondschein Sefer HaTanya edition #40.

The blank first leaf has a handwritten note: “This Tanya belongs to Shalom Dov Beer Guraryeh, Feierberg Street 22, [Tel Aviv], 1945.”

[2], 2-163 leaves. Moth holes, a number of pages are detached, good condition.

Rabbi Shalom Dov Beer Guraryeh (1932-2009) was the son of Rabbi Moshe Guraryeh, the famous mashpiah from Tel Aviv. He was an important Chabad rabbi in South Africa, where he was sent by the Rebbe (first to Cape Town, and then to Johannesburg).
