Rare picture from the bar mitzvah ceremony of the Admor of Karlin-Stolin shlita, which took place in Jerusalem in 1968.

The ceremony was of special significance because it also marked his crowning as Admor. Hundreds of chassidei Karlin who had been without a leader since the death of the Admor Rabbi Yochanan of Karlin in 1956, watched the bar mitzvah of the new leader with trepidation, and sang the niggun “Vayetze Choter MiGeza Yishay” afterward, which they only usually do once a year after the Shirat HaYam.

The item is accompanied by a newspaper cut-out from 1968 with detailed coverage of the bar mitzvah, and another picture from the same event.

12x18cm, original picture by Photo Weiss in Jerusalem. Light stain on the left side, good condition.
