Lot 235:
Lead on Bristol paper, the Admor of Karlin, Rabbi Yochanan Perlov. Depicted precisely as he looked in his youth, with his typical motion of his hand over his eyes. Signed “Shilo”.
Size: 40×29.5cm. Creases, stains, overall good condition.
Admor Rabbi Yochanan Perlov of Karlin (1900-1956) was the main Admor of Karlin after the Shoah, the youngest son of Rabbi Yisrael of Stolin. He developed his chatzer and established new centers in the United States and Israel. He had one goal—to unite the Karliner communities of Israel into one community without divisions. He united the Beis Aharon yeshiva with the Peer Yisrael yeshiva, calling it Beis Aharon v’Yisrael, and he united the three synagogues in Tel Aviv into one single one.
