Handwriting and signature of the posek hador Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner, author of the Shut Shevet HaLevi and rabbi of the Zichron Meir neighborhood of Bnei Brak. Content is a certificate of marriage for Yosef Yehuda Yaakovson, given in 1953, 6 years after Rabbi Wosner had been appointed Av Beit Din of Zichron Meir. One can notice that the signature is different from that made famous from his later years.

Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner (1913-2015), author of the Shevet HaLevi, was head of the Chochmei Lublin yeshiva in Bnei Brak, a posek hador of the last generation. He was a student of Rabbi Meir Shapira in Lublin. In 1939 he immigrated to Israel. In 1947, at the Chazon Ish’s initiative, he was appointed rabbi and Av Beit Din of Zichron Meir in Bnei Brak. The Chazon Ish said of him: “In our days 4 amot of halacha can be found by the Rabbi in the Zichron Meir neighborhood.”
