Rabbi Aryeh Levin Malin (1906-1962) was Rosh Yeshivat of Beit HaTalmud and a leading rosh yeshiva in America, alongside Rabbi Aharon Kotler. He was the student of the Lithuanian giants, Rabbi Shimon Shkop, Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman, Rabbi Baruch Beer, and Rabbi Yerucham Leibowitz. He even edited the second section of Rabbi Leibowitz’s book, De’at Chochmah v’Mussar, as is mentioned in the introduction to the book. He also studied under the Griz Soloveitchik of Brisk, and many of the shiurim of the Brisker Rav which were later published in a stencil edition were written by hand. He also had a chavruta with Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Shapira (they were from the same town).

His chiddushim were edited and published by his nephew, Rabbi Baruch Dov Foversky, and are highly prized in the yeshiva world. Among his students were Rabbi Mordechai Eliphant, Rabbi Shimshon David Pinkus, and Rabbi Aharon Feldman.
