Letter on official letterhead, handwritten and signed by Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Dubitzky, Rabbi of Montreal (Canada). Addressed to the administrators of the Otzer HaChesed Keren Shmuel in Jerusalem. From the 17th of Sivan 1943, during the Shoah.

The letter refers to the issue of increasing the number of members in the Gamach—“On Shabbat the 2nd day of Rosh Chodesh Iyar an important person died here, Aryeh Leib ben Shmuel Singer, 63 years old, and he is from a respected family here, and I want to publicize the Otzer Chesed…”. At the end he signs by hand: “Avraham Shmuel Dubitzky of the community mentioned above”.

Rabbi Avraham Shmuel son of Rabbi Naftali Dubitzky [died in 1944], son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Lernblatt Av Beit Din of Sosomkinin Courland (Latvia), Rabbi Avraham Shmuel succeeded his father-in-law and was later appointed as rabbi of the city of Goldingen in Courland, from where he went to Montreal, Canada where he served as rabbi of the Adat Yeshuran congregation until his death in 1944. On his tombstone is written: "One of the foremost rabbis of his time, famous for his Torah and wisdom"
