Note handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yitzhak of Prague, the author of the book Pri Yitzhak and student of the Chatam Sofer, on the book Yitzhak Yeranen by Rabbi Elyakim bar Yitzhak Gottinio. The note is cut off by the margins. Rare book—hasn’t appeared in auctions.

Rabbi Yitzhak Oplatka of Prague (1819-1900) was a student of the Chatam Sofer who studied at his yeshiva in Pressburg. In 1838 he moved to Israel with his rabbi’s recommendation and married the daughter of Rabbi Baruch Ayas, under whose influence he adopted many minhagim of the Sefardim, including his handwriting. He was a leader of the Kollel Ungvarin, and he served as a dayan in the kollel’s beit din.
