Large printing with a facsimile of a number of letters, addressed to “our brothers, members of our geulah and our people, living in the Diaspora”, attempting to purify the name of the Rahatz Rabbi David Beiderman (perhaps referring to the Admor Rabbi David Zvi Shlomo of Lalov, 1844-1918, who was also in charge of the Warsaw Kollel), and Rabbi Yisrael Oritcher and a few other rabbis who were slandered for being Shadars of the Zhitomir Kollel in Jerusalem.
The background is unclear
and we have been unable to find any documentation of this affair.
Letters of support are signed by members of the Kollel as well as the Raaya Kook, rabbis of the Badatz Eida Ashkenazim, and more. Dated 1914.
From reading between the lines, it seems that the issue was a certain takana in the collection of funds abroad on behalf of the Zhitomir Kollel in Jerusalem, in that the money would be sent directly from the Shadar to Eretz Israel even before he returned to his residence in the Holy Land. For some reason, this provoked some strong opposition, and activists from Tzfat slandered the members of the Diaspora regarding the credibility of the above-mentioned Shadarim in the booklet "Kol MeHeichal Hashem” (we have not found in databases) that was published on the matter. This poster was designed to purify their name and lay out the truth of the matter.
This historical matter has never been studied, despite seeming to have caused a furor at the time.
