Lot 060:
An artistic portfolio of 12 color portraits of rabbis, some silkscreen (serigraph) printing, others lithographs, done by the artist Pinchas Litvinovsky. Signed in pencil and numbered 82/150.
Between each panel is a sheet of tissue paper to preserve the artwork, each of which features a short printed biography of the figure depicted. The depictions are of: the Chacham Zvi, the Natziv of Volozhin, Rabbi Haim Ozer Grodzinsky, Admorim from the early Chassidic movement—the Yehudi HaKadosh of Peshischa, Rabi Schneur Zalman of Liady (the Tanya)—as well as rabbis and Admorim from the last generation, including Rabbi David HaKohen (the Nazir) and the Admor Rabbi Moshe Yitzhak Gewirtzman of Peshwersk (Rabbi Itzik’le of Peshwersk).
The start of the portfolio has two leaves of introductory material from the artist Mordechai Ardon, in Hebrew and English. This portfolio comes in a very nice, hardcover collection. Size: 52.5x75cm. Stains and creases mainly in the tissue paper. Small tear in the margin of one of the panels without damage to the printing itself. Overall good condition.
