Sefer Yafeh Mar’eh, commentaries and chiddushim on aggadot of the Yerushalmi, by Rabbi Shmuel Yafeh Ashkenazi, Rabbi of the Ashkenazi community of Turkey and author of the foundational commentary on Midrash Raba, “Yafah To’ar”. See Stefanski Sifrei Yesod, p. 40 in the notes. The second leaf has the signature of Rabbi Avraham Meyuchas,
“Avraham Becher Shmuel Meyuchas”. The signature is a little cut off. There are also three handwritten notes among the book pages. In the original: 331 leaves. This copy is missing one leaf from the end in the index. Many moth holes, binding detached, fair condition.


Rabbi Avraham ben Rabbi Shmuel Meyuchas (1700-1768) was describes admiringly by his brother, the Pri HaAdama. He was a gadol of Jerusalem who became famous mostly for his work the Sde HaAretz, and he wrote other books on kabbalah. When he was 40 he went blind, and all of his works were published before he was 30 years old. He is buried on the Mt. of Olives. See Arzei HaLevanon, p. 154.
