The letter is handwritten and signed by Rabbi Zeev Wolf HaLevi Tirnoar, Av Beit Din of Paltichen on pages of the work Yitzhak Yera’anen. It is a long letter with 21 lines written in pencil on the blank first page and addressed to Rabbi Yaakov Issachar.

The book: Sefer Yitzhak Yera’anen, a book written in the style of a dialogue or catechism between a rabbi and student, by Rabbi Yitzhak Rovitch, Av Beit Din of Orzshovinitz, a Sadigura chassid. The book covers many subjects from the Torah and displays huge geonut. It has the approbation of the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Sadigura. The title page has the signature of Rabbi Zeev Wolf HaLevi Tirnoar.

[3], 49 leaves. Paper a little brittle, good condition.

Bound with the book Chaluka d’Rabanan, a work on three sefarim: Shnei Luchot HaBrit, Mateh Aharon, and Kutonet Pasim, with glosses from Rabbi Avraham Feier—Lemberg 1893. At the end is a long subscriber list of Chassidic gedolim, including Rabbi Yeshaya ben Rabbi Moshe shlita of Kerestir.”

Gaon Rabbi Zeev Wolf HaLevi Tirnoar (1879-1959) was rabbi of Lespezi, Shamkot, Sochava, and Paltichen, author of 39 Orot, on halachot of Shabbat. Student of Rav Yehuda Greenwald, the Ra’avad of Satmar, and Rav Moshe Greenwald, rabbi of Khust and author of Arugot HaBosem. Would travel to the tzaddikim of the generation, like Rabbi Issachar Dov Rokach of Belz, Rabbi Yisrale Zvi Rotenburg of Cassani, Rabbi Yisrael Hagar of Vizhnitz (lived the last few years of his life in Grosvradin). At the end of his life he moved to Israel and lived in Tzfat, where he served as rabbi of the She’erit HaPlita synagogue. Was father-in-law of Rabbi Aharon Yehiel Leifer, the Rebbe of Nadvorna-Banya-Tzfat. Famous as a miracle worker.
