The pamphlet features yellow binding with high-quality paper—a collection of verses, ma’amarim from Chazal, the thought of the Baal Shem Tov, the Maggid of Mastrich, and the Admorim of Chabad, regarding the mitzvah of Ahavas Yisrael. Also included is the entry regarding “Ahavas Yisrael” from the “Sefer HaArachim.” The Rebbe was deeply involved in editing the pamphlet and it was printed on his direct orders for the mashpiyim and mashpiyot. It was published in New York by Kehat to celebrate the 11th of Nissan, 1977. Some of the pamphlets were handed out by the Rebbe to mashpiyim with his handwritten signature at the end. Over the years after its initial printing the Rebbe would give out copies to mashpiyim. This is accompanied by a certificate. Light defects, overall very good condition.
On Sunday, 11th Nissan, 1989, after the Rebbe had finished giving out dollars he surprised everyone with a chaluka of the pamphlet “Ahavas Yisrael” for anyone coming above the age of the bar mitzvah, as is recorded in “Mazkeret Netzach” (Central Tomchei Temimim, New York, Tishrei 2011, p.23ff): “But because there was not a special printing done for the chaluka, and only copies of the pamphlet left over from the 1977 printing were given out, they ran out very quickly, and those who remained received only dollars from the Rebbe for tzedakah, without this special pamphlet.” To find out more, look inside in the book itself.
