Toldot Yitzhak on the Torah, 2 sections, by Rabbi Yitzhak Isaac Weiss, Av Beit Din of Svaliava and Munkatch, the author of the Beit Yitzhak and Divrei Yitzhak, brought to the printer by his son Rabbi Yosef Weiss of Munkatch. First edition, Munkatch/Marmarosh/Sighet 1903-4. Separate cover for each section.

1. Genesis and Exodus, Munkatch, printed by S.Z. Kahane and E. Freud, 1903. [8], 42 leaves.

2. Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Marmarosh-Sighet, printed by A. Kaufman, 1904. 27, [1] leaves, 8 pages.

Warm approbation from his nephew the Admor Imrei Yosef of Spinka, who writes: “to take into your home is a blessing, to pay for the book fully, and in the merit of the mitzvah you will be blessed with sheaf and success and the author’s merit will stand in your stead and protect the supporters…”. Additional approbations from the Maharsham of Berezan, the Admor Darchei Tshuva of Munkatch, and others. Long introduction from the author’s son, who includes many testimonies from tzaddikim surprised with wonder from the author and the book. At the end are subscribers, 8 full pages. Stains, loose connections between the lines, wear, overall good condition.

The title page has two stamps of the publisher: “Yosef Weiss son of the Gahatz Mohari z”l.” Blank first page has signature “Moshe Meir Leifer”.

The Admor Rabbi Moshe Meir Leifer of Nadvorna-Bonia Jerusalem, was the son-in-law of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich, the Av Beit Din of Simloy in the USA. He served as a motz and authored Mishmeret HaShabbat and Mishmeret HaMo’adot.” He set up his beit midrash in the Bukharim neighborhood of Jerusalem.

The author’s son Rabbi Yosef Weiss (died 1936) was the son of the gaon Rabbi Yitzhak Isaac Weiss, he succeeded his father.
