“Tikkun Shovavim—recalling things said and done in public in repentance during the days of the Shovavim and those awaking early and coming to Mincha and Maariv in the synagogue to plead before Hashem with viduim.” This is a set of prayers for those who fast on Mondays and Thursdays in the “Shovavim” parshiyot, with Mincha and the reading of Vayachel, “organized on the basis of the kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Zechut, the Moreh Chata’im BaDerech, with the addition of hatarat nedarim and mesirat moda’ah as Rabbi Shmuel David Ottolenghi, printed for Gad ben Yitzhak Puah.” Printed by Bragadin, Venice 1739.

Blank first page has note “This is the book of Zalman Pinzi di Logo” (from Logo, Italy).

At the beginning of the book are three handwritten pages in sofer script, a piyyut for the shovavim opening with the words “Nafshi Nafshi”, by Rabbi Yitzhak Berachya of Pano in Logo (Rabbi Yitzhak Berachya was rabbi in the city of Logo where the scribe was writing). Pretty, original, interesting item. 45, 47-49 leaves. 17cm. Very good condition, half-parchment worn binding.
