1. Sefer Chafetz Haim and Shmirat Lashon on the need to guard oneself from lashon hara, by Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaKohen of Radin, author of this and the Mishna Brurah (and many more), Warsaw 1891. The blank first page has the note in pencil, slightly faded, “Moga”, which the Chafetz Haim would write on books he had reviewed for errors. Binding detached, title leaf detached, overall very good condition.

2. Ahavat Chesed on tzedakah and chesed, by the Chafetz Haim. Warsaw 1901. Bound with the book Shem Olam, first edition, Warsaw 1895. Stains and dirt on the blank first page, otherwise very good condition.

The blank first page has the note in pencil, slightly faded,
“Moga”, which the Chafetz Haim would write on books he had reviewed for errors.

The Chafetz Haim was known for the great concern he took that there would be no fear of gezel from his purchasers, so he would look over every copy published with a fine-tooth comb and make sure there were no printing or other errors. Any copy he had reviewed he would allow to be sold and would mark with the word “Moga” in pencil.
