A work in memory of the avrech Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh Alter, son of the gaon Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter, with a handwritten dedication from his father, the Admor Pnei Menachem of Gur.

Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh Alter was born in 1960. His father named him after the baby’s grandfather, the Sfat Emet. Even as a child his greatness became clear, he studied Torah day and night, and married the daughter of Rabbi Menashe Klein, Av Beit Din of Ungvar. In his youth he established a network of kollels of chassidei Gur and led them. He died in 1988 in a vehicular accident at a young age (28), causing a great outpouring of grief among the entire Gur sect. This work was published in his memory.

Admor Pnei Menachem of Gur (1926-1996) was the youngest son of the Admor of Gur, Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter (the Imrei Emet). He served as head of the Sfat Emet yeshiva in Jerusalem for many years. In 1992 after his brother (the Lev Simcha) passed away, he became Admor and led the chassidut Gur.
