Shut Chatam Sofer, Yoreh De’ah: [4], 153, [5] leaves. Stains, tape on the title page, antique worn binding, overall good condition.
The blank first page has a signature of ownership of Rabbi Yaakov Yehezki Greenwald of Tzehlim (Deutschkreutz)—the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yehezkiya Greenwald, the writer of the Vayaged Yaakov on the Torah (1882-1941) was the son of the gaon Rabbi Moshe of Khust, the Arugas HaBosem. He became famous mainly as the rabbi of the Etz Hayyim community in Papa (Hungary) and as the head of the yeshiva there. He served before then in a number of cities, such as Tzehlim and Honiad. He also wrote: Zechut Avot (on Masechet Avot); Agudas Ezov (on the Pesach Haggadah); Bracha v’Tehila (on Psalms).
The title page has the stamp: “Eliyahu Sternhall”. The body of the work has one long note, it is not known who was the author.
