Lot 070:
Delicate embroidery work depicting a rabbi sitting in candlelight and reading a book deep in concentration, wearing a handsome rabbinical garb, against a background of a synagogue and a window with stained glass. Made with tiny strings and a challenging play of colors—not used in most embroidery examples. The embroiderer, for example, took care to depict the wrinkles of the rabbi’s forehead and facial features. Some of the threads are shiny. Signed: “Rivka.”
