Gemara Shabbat printed at the height of the Shoah for refugees and students of the Mir yeshiva who escaped to Shanghai, published by the Torah Ohr Printing Committee in Shanghai.
The Torah Ohr committee was established by students of the Mir yeshiva to fulfil the huge need for foundational works following the arrival of thousands of refugees to China, where there was no significant Jewish infrastructure.
Masechet shabbat was printed as a facsimile of the well-known Vilna edition. Good condition, with wear typical of a gemara that was heavily used. Rare in this condition.
