Two volumes of issues of HaGoren, “gathering Jewish wisdom, edited and published by Shmuel Aba Horodetzky” (grandson of Admor Yochanan of Chernobyl and the Baal Shem Tov; a researcher of chassidut and mysticism, Bialik Prize Winner for Jewish Wisdom, 1947). He became famous for his writings on the history and study of Judaism and his many articles in periodicals of the period including a fascinating Jewish history of the great sages of Israel and the books of congregations and much Chassidic content. Issues from 1888, 1902, 1903. New bindings, stains, overall good condition.
