Volume containing two works:

1. Pelech HaRimon, a commentary on Midrashim Temohim, by the great darshan Rabbi Betzalel of Slotzk. Printed in Lemberg 1897. 38 leaves.

2. Chidot Rabbi Shlomo ibn Gvirol, and their Solutions. By Senior Sachs. The colophon lists the place and year of printing as Paris, 1898. The National Library lists it has printed in Krakow. 24 pages. First edition of this work, which we believe has never been sold at auction. Old binding, spine coming apart, a few moth marks, stains, overall good condition.

The blank first page has a signature of ownership: “Mendel Roller son of Rabbi Hayyim Mordechai Roller, here in Niemitz.” Stamp: “Rabbi Yosef Zvi Katz, in the Jewish community of Bucharest.”

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Roller, son of Rabbi Hayyim Mordechai Roller, Av Beit Din of Targo-Niemitz and author of the Shut “Be’er Hayyim Mordechai”. He served before the Shoah in the rabbinate of Vaslui & Akkerman (Serbia). After the war he served as rabbi in Lodz and then immigrated to Paris. At the end of his life he served as Rabbi of the Jewish community of Melbourne, Australia.
