A old and foundational work, mussar based on pshat and melitza “for the benefit of the soul and body…with 102 chapters” (“kav”). By Rabbi Zvi Hirsch ben Rabbi Aharon Shmuel Kaidanover, Av Beit Din of Frankfurt-am-Mein and Krakow. With Yiddish translation, separate title page for each section. Published in Frankfurt-am-Mein, first section 1709 and the second 1710. 102, 84 leaves in the original. This copy is missing 93-94. Approbations from Rabbi Naftali HaKohen and Rabbi Shmuel Katz of Frankfurt. Introduction by the author. Old binding, defective spine, stains (in a few places they are dark). First title page and other pages have been repaired, front binding is loose, page cuttings in purple (faded), overall good condition for a work of such age.

Blank first page has a note in block letters: “Yosef ben Rabbi Meir Bennett”. Additional notes not checked thoroughly. Number of handwritten notes in the body of the work.
