Buyer's premium:

Two volumes of the Pnei Yehoshua on sugiyot of Shas, Vilna 1898, and a volume of Chiddushei HaRamban on the Shas, which the Admor Rabbi Yochanan of Rachmastrivka used to study in his youth. The pages are worn from use, pages detached, bindings partially detached, some without title page, all of which testifies to his investment in Torah without end. Antique bindings, leather spines, possibly partially missing (not checked). Two blank first pages have note: “belongs to the young Yochanan bar David Twersky.”

Admor Rabbi Yochanan Twersky of Rachmastrivka (1900-1982) was a descendant of Rabbi Nachum of Chernobyl (the Maor Einayim). He rejuvenated the Chassidic line after the Shoah. He studied under his father, the Admor Rabbi David, and moved with his family to Israel in 1926. After his father’s death in 1950 he was appointed his successor in Jerusalem.
