At the end are 8 pages of “kavanot of tefillot and the tekiyot of Rosh Hashanah based on the Rashash.” By Rabbi Yaakov ben Rabbi Shaul Katzin. First edition, Jerusalem 1925. 2 [4] 4-248, 8 pages. Approbations of Rabbi Yosef Haim Zonenfeld, Rabbi Haim Shaul Davich, Rabbi Aharorn Shlomo Maharil. At the beginning is a mention and commemoration with gilded letters and a frame of an important woman: “Marat Leah Katzin”, who donated “50 copies of the book”! for printing, something which makes this edition rare and valuable. Old binding with leather spine, binding partially detached with some pages, stains, overall good condition.

Important note on the title page: “Ephraim Shmuel Lerner”. The body of the work has handwritten titles in his handwriting, and there is a small page among the pages of the work on which he wrote the halachic times of day for Rosh Chodesh Elul.

Rabbi Ephraim Shmuel Lerner (1879-1962) was the son of Rabbi Mordechai, he served as rosh yeshiva of the Ashkenazi kabbalistic yeshiva Sha’ar HaShamayim in Jerusalem, was a founder of the Sha’arei Chesed neighborhood there, and founded the Gra synagogue there and served there as chazan for many years.
