Letter on official letterhead, handwritten and signed by Rabbi Shimon HaKohen Satin, Av Beit Din of Medier. From 1st Day of Chol HaMoed 1923, in Yiddish-German, on a technical issue related to the Siddur Kiddushin. He also mentions Rabbi Moshe Goldschmidt Gotspector. Signed by hand as well as official stamp. Size: 34×20.5cm. Folding creases, tears in the upper margins, overall good condition.
Rabbi Shimon HaKohen Satin (1877-1938) was the son of Rabbi Avraham Yonatan Binyamin. He was a student of the geonim of Pressburg, the Shevet Sofer and Rabbi David Naiman. He was son-in-law of Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Weiss the Rabbi of Medier (Hungary). In 1920 he succeeded him as rabbi of the town, later to be replaced by his own son-in-law rabbi Pinchas.
