Typewritten letter from the 25th of Cheshvan 1963, addressed to rabbis leading the American and Canadian Agudas Rabbanim, in which the letter describes the great danger posed by the missionizing organizations in Israel: “mission bodies that oppress the souls of the youth as a result of their impatience and difficult economic circumstances … There is an urgent need for large-scale prevention and rescue operations, and this requires large financial means … which we will not be able to achieve without the help of the Diaspora… It is necessary that great pressure be put to bear to legislate a law forbidding the activities of the missionaries lest the foundations of the nation be ‘tattooed’, God forbid, to stand aside at this crucial hour …”.
