Lot 043:
Blue ink lithograph of a poster “Mishenichnas Adar Marbin b’Simcha” with a frame composed of Jewish Stars. In the center are fish and the inscription “Adar Mazal Dagim [Adar has the zodiac of fish].” It was a common tradition among Hungarian Jewry to hang posters of this kind in synagogues and private homes when Adar began. This printing was done at the press at 6 Hitler Street, Satmar, before the Shoah [approx. 1940]. Slight tears in the margins. Size: 42×31.5cm. Overall good condition.
