Lot 088:
2 $1 bills received from the Rebbe at the 8th Night of Channukah 1978. 2 bills with sequential numbers, very good condition. Wednesday, 20th of Kislev 1978 (Sichot Kodesh 1978, Vol. 2, p. 751) the Rebbe received ‘yechidus’. Among those who came were those whom the Rebbe asked when they would be returning home, and when they answered “after chanukkah”, he wrote that on a note and did not give them a dollar. When a child told the Rebbe that he was returning to Israel after the 24th of Tevet, the Rebbe responded: he should be present at the chanukkah hitva’adut and then would receive Channukah gelt (Hitkashrut 491).
