 HaOhel Olam, an important work on Masechet Ketubot by Rabbi Akiva Lerin of Frankfurt. Partially missing copy: missing title page and first page + one other page from the end. 2-87 [3] leaves. Binding, spine, and corners are leather and match the period of printing. Stains and wear, lone moth holes, overall good condition.

Stamps of ownership: “Shimon Shif Luzhansk, grandson of the Dor Rishon Naftali ben Dr. Elazer ben Admor Dr. Elimelech ben Noam Elimelech of Luzhansk, ” Additional stamp with reference to Klausenberg. Stamp in the body of the work: “the young Haim Prague(?)”. Admor Rabbi Shimon Shif of Luzhansk (died approximately 1940) was the son of rabbi Haim, grandson of the Admor Rabbi Elimelech of Luzhansk. He served as Admor of Luzhansk in Klausenberg. He wrote “Nusach Hakafot”, Cluj 1925. He was murdered in the Shoah. Hi son, Rabbi Yehezkel, was son-in-law of Admor Rabbi Moshe Yitzhak of Peshwersk-Antwerp.

Additional stamps: “Zvi Hirsch HaKohen New York”—probably Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of New York (1898-1969), son of Rabbi Chanoch Haim. Wrote “Gnizei Drashot”, a collection of Yiddish drashot—New York, 1933.
