A work with commentaries and halachot on the siddur for the whole year, written by Rabbi Shmarya Shmaril (Brendris), son of Rabbi Yaakov Av Beit Din of Rimlov, which he wrote (according to the title page) when there was a gezera against learning b’iyun. This edition is the only one of its type (around a decade later this work was included in the siddur “Seder Nehora HaShalem”, printed in Pressubrg 1859). [24] leaves. Moth damage in some pages with a little damage to text. Stains, no binding, overall fair condition. Gloss on the back side of leaf 8. Rare Chassidic commentary with various mentions of Chassidic sages and halacha, including “Siddur Rabbi Kapil” and additional kabbalistic siddurim, Chassidic minhagim including saying Mizmor 107 before Mincha of Erev Shabbat as according to the Baal Shem Tov; also discusses the saying of Hallelujah twice according to the Chassidic custom in Psukei D’Zimra, and more. The Maggid of Zlatchow and his son Rabbi Zeev of Zaborizh, Rabbi Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev, Rabbi Avraham David of Botchach Rabbi Shlomo Kluger, Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliyot, and many other rabbis are mentioned. The author lived from 1780-1857 and was the son of Rabbi Yaakov. He was Av Beit Din of Trembovla and Rimlov (two towns in the Tarnopol district of Ukraine), he was a student of Rabbi Avraham David of Botchach (the Daat Kedoshim) and Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliyot (the MatehEphraim). He moved to Israel in 1852 and died five years later in Jerusalem, he was buried on the Mt. of Olives. His son Rabbi Yosef Meir, Av Beit Din of Ostzia, succeeded him in Rimlov. His brother Rabbi Zvi Hirsch was a Chassid of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. See more in Me’orei Galicia, 1:618-19.
