Lot 139:
Volume containing three books, commentaries on the Zohar by Rabbi Shalom Ben Moses Buzaglo of Sali, who wrote the “Mikdash Melech” on the Zohar. Hadarat Melech, Kvod Melech, Pnei Melech, and excisions from Kisseh Melech, printed at the printing shop of Moses ben Hamanoah Hirtz in the Hague, 1770-3, and published ultimately in London. Apart from the book Pnei Melech, all were printed without a title page. The pagination is not organized so we’ve included here precise details of pages according to the organization in this copy with details from the National Library (see more in Gershom Scholem, Books of Kabbalah, pages 190-191): Pages 138-157: Hadarat Melech [second section of the Hadarat Melech printed in Amsterdam in 1766] printed without title page. The top of the first page has the words “printed in London” (1770). Leaves [1] 178-206, with a special title page: “This book Hadarat Pnei Melech…with the commentary HaAdarot Zuta v’Raba (1773). Pages 219-244: Commentary Ma’amarei HaTikkunim. Hadarat Kvod Melech leaves 158-161 including corrections and excisions from all the works printed here (pagination is a continuation of Hadarat Melech). Pages 129-132: excisions from Kisseh Melech (pagination is continuation of the Amsterdam 1774 release). Probably finished printing in 1774. Pages 158-161: Table of errors and excisions from the Zohar and an index to the Ma’amarei Tikkunim. The rest is missing in this copy. Stains. Moth damage and tape. Most in overall good condition.
