Lot 267:
Artistic engraving made by Virgilius Solis (1514-1562, signed VS here), an engraver, sketcher, and print and wood engraving artist who operated in Nuremberg (his birthplace) throughout the 16th century. His prints have been sold separately and also decorated many books. Many prints feature his signature where were probably made in his workshop by others as well. After his death, his widow continued to run the workshop and it continued into the early 17th century. Taped to paper. 15x12cm. Probably cut from a book. Overall very good condition.
